Here, they encountered a wise old owl named Orin, who told them that the Starlight Seed was hidden in the Enchanted Garden, guarded by the Garden Guardian. To reach the garden, they had to cross the River of Dreams, which was only navigable at night when the moon was full.

As the moon rose, Lila and Nutkin set out on their boat, guided by the stars. The river was calm, and the dreams of the kingdom seemed to flow with the water. But as they neared the garden, they were ambushed by the Nightshade's minions, who were determined to keep the Starlight Seed from returning to the kingdom.

In a fierce battle, Lila and Nutkin fought back, using their wits and the magic of their dreams to defeat the minions. They reached the garden, where the Garden Guardian, a majestic unicorn with a mane of stardust, awaited them. The Guardian explained that the Starlight Seed was not a physical object but a part of Lila's own heart, for it was her dreams that had created the magic of the castle.

With the Starlight Seed safely within her, Lila returned to the castle, where the people were gathered, waiting for her return. As she held the Starlight Seed, the magic of the kingdom began to flow once more, and the stars began to twinkle brightly in the night sky.
